Posted by boa on the Crowes' board...
| Quote: | | For all the east coast folks, make sure to catch Circle Sound featuring Rich Robinson and Luther Dickinson with guests Sven Pipien and Bill Dubrow performing at the Bowery Ballroom on Friday, January 19, 2007. Doors open at 8pm, support act at 9pm and Circle Sound hits the stage at 10:15PM. |
For those who don't know, Sven is TBC's bassist and Dubrow played with Rich and was TBC's drummer for the first couple months back in 2005 before Steve Gorman came back. Sounds so fuckin cool. _________________ "Mr. Luther won't ya play some guitar for 'em." |

Just saw this over on Amorica.org. This will really take the post-holiday blues away. Can't wait to hear Rich and Luther exchange more licks than just the typical one song sit-ins Luther has done with The Crowes.
Can't wait!!! _________________ There ain't no other language I know how to speak. |

Something that has been speculated about on the Crowes board a little bit with nothing to base it on...
What would y'all think if Luther became the permanent replacement for Marc Ford? I definitely don't think it would happen, but I can't say I haven't thought about it and smiled a little bit. _________________ "Mr. Luther won't ya play some guitar for 'em." |

On amorica.org? What thread is that in? I didn't see it.
I hope it isn't a possibility. I like the Crowes and all, but they could not replace the AllStars in my heart.
I had heard similar stuff about Panic and the slot currently occupied by Jimmy Herring. I guess it is all possible. Jojo left Beanland to join Panic. |

It was just a couple posts on the stickied thread in the What's Tall forum.
If they could co-exist, I can't help it, I'd be all for it. Luther, IMO, would be a perfect fit. But with all the touring the Allstars do... and all the touring the Crowes just got done doing...
Yeah, just wouldn't work out. _________________ "Mr. Luther won't ya play some guitar for 'em." |

I wouldn't want to see NMA end. I love what this band does.
IMO The Black Crowes could be doing a Deep End kinda thing...ala Govt Mule. Maybe their plan is to have guest leads throughout their entire new CD they're working on.
Maybe Luther will be up here to lay down his track?????
I'm a huge Crowes fan (Amorican) and while I'd love to see a real member show up to play and tour with them, I can't resist imagining how cool this could end up being if my guessin' were true.
Anyway - No matter what the reason is for him being in NYC, seeing RR with Luther together will be great. _________________ There ain't no other language I know how to speak. |

I am surprised there isn't much interest in this show. Only 3 of us interested enough to discuss it here? Over on the Crowes board, there is a 10+ page thread. An e-fight almost broke out, not that I would know anything about that.
The roll call thread for the show is 10+ pages with 50 people listed. Are there really only 3 of us on the board interested in what Luther is doing on Jan. 19 in NYC? |

This deserves a bump.
I'm with you Vanark.
I know there are more tri-staters on this board.
And...sure you don't know anything about e fighting... _________________ There ain't no other language I know how to speak. |

If I still lived in my hometown 40 miles north of NYC, I'd be all over this show, but alas, I must force myself to cope with living in the middle of the southeast. It's not so bad We get a few shows from time to time. |
